Here we are at week two and I apologize for this post taking so long to come out. I been really busy doing blog graphics and stuff so that is why this post is late sorry . You can read Last weeks bachelor blog here https://simplydiamondgirl.wixsite.com/simplydiamondgirl/post/the-bachelor-colton-episode-1
is anyone else relived that the season premire is over and we ca watch regular episodes now because I don’t know about you but I am so let’s get started shall we .
We start the episode with Colton making a shirtless “home video” of his thoughts leading up to the first group date of the season. An interesting camera experiment–we’ll see if they continue to add those tidbits to the season.
One of my favorite parts of the first episode after the premier is seeing all of the girls in the living room in the morning. There is minimal make-up on, casual clothes, and I find that this is when you really get a sense of just how beautiful many of these women are. And there are some definite natural beauties in this bunch.

The first group date includes Demi, Bri, Tracy, Elyse, Hannah G, Nicole, Onyeka, and Catherine. The group are met by Megan Mullally (Will & Grace) and Nick Offerman (Park and Rec) and are told that they will be performing a monologue about “their first time doing something” in front of a 200 person live audience.
On the whole, not many of these performances were that interesting and there was no drama from anyone afraid to get up on stage.
Here’s the highlight reel of the “firsts” that the women highlighted
Colton: First time he told someone he was a virgin. Oh my god–stop talking about it!!!!
Elyse: First time dating a younger man. As the oldest women on the show this year, I thought her story showed class and humor. The best by far.
Nicole: First time dating a white man. It’s not Colton, but Nicole is a good story teller and has Colton cracking up.
Hannah G: First time getting a first impression rose. Okay, Hannah I like you, but that was seriously lame.
Bri: First time she felt comfortable in her own skin. A rather endearing story, actually.
Onyeka: First time drowning in bitches when she moved in to the mansion.
Catherine: First time……????? I have no idea what her first time story was because she reacted to Onyeka’s story and threw the mic onto the ground in defiance.
Tracy: First time she tried to date a virgin.
Demi: First time she got the first group date rose. As she exits the stage stairs, she walks right up to Colton and give him a kiss. This kiss is the catalyst that starts Tracy’s spiral at the cocktail party later that night.

Hannah B snags the first one-on-one date on her 24th birthday. She is absolutely gorgeous without make up on.
Colton arrives in a rented Jeep, which apparently has no back seats and is being used to carry around extra equipment for the filming of the show. The two drive to Vasquez Rock, which looks beautiful and reminds me of the desert, rocky landscape of Arizona or New Mexico. Of course there is a hot tub in the middle of nowhere, though at least this time they’ve decked out the surroundings to include a little extra decor.
Surprisingly, Hannah and Colton seem to have absolutely nothing to talk about and the daytime portion of this date leaves Colton confused and unsure about Hannah. Case in point, he makes a toast and then asks her to make one and….she can’t do it. She can’t think of anything to say and laughs and giggles her way out of it. To me this interaction screamed “insecure” on Hannah’s part. Like she was so afraid of Colton judging what she said that she just couldn’t say anything. Look, I get being nervous on a first date, but honestly, if you aren’t feeling a certain level of comfort with each other right away, your chances of building something lasting seem very slim in the Bachelor environment.
Of course, in true Bachelor fashion, Hannah finds a way to “open up” during the dinner portion of the date. She reveals more of her “messy side” to Colton and admits that she often feels like her outer persona has to come across as perfect. Colton, and I, much prefer this side of Hannah, but I’m just not sure I feel it as much with them any more. The day portion of their date was just so odd. Hannah does snag the rose though, so we’ll see how far she goes.

For group date #2 we’re headed to summer camp with Alex, Erika, Katie, Caelynn, Sydney, Nina, Taysha, Kirpa, Caitlin, Courtney, Cassie, and Heather
I actually found this date a complete Fun it kind of brought me back to the really fun things that summer camp has to offer, like hiking, boating, crafting, and telling ghost stories around the fire, the girls play duck duck goose, have a relay race, and play tug of war.
And of course, it’s a competition and half of the girls get sent home, so we learn very little about the loosing team.
I usually like the dates where two teams compete, but I prefer when the competition centers on a sport and I don’t like when half the people go home.
I feel like we learn very little about the people who get to stay for the night. There are some highlights shown and connections between Katie/ Colton and Caelynn/ Colton so we’ll be looking for more of those in the coming weeks.
The biggest “drama” of the night is Heather telling Colton that she’s never been kissed. Heather is young (only 22), so it’s certainly conceivable that she’s never kissed someone. But I refuse to believe that she wasn’t coerced by someone into telling Colton about it right away. That’s the kind of thing that I don’t think needs to be dropped this early on and certainly doesn’t need it’s own lead up and big announcement.
By building it into a “thing” Heather is putting way too much pressure on herself. And way too much pressure on Colton. I have a feeling that if she hadn’t said anything, he would have kissed her during their conversation. What if she had just casually mentioned after the fact that it was her first kiss?? Then it would have been over and no one would have paid that much attention. But she made it a thing. And it’s going to be a thing for awhile now. She may actually leave the show and still not have had her first kiss because there is just so much pressure surrounding it.
Nevertheless, Heather gets the group date rose (maybe for reassurance)?
The cocktail party went by quickly this week, as it often does when you have an episode jam packed with dates. No one really stands out that much at the cocktail party. We see Colton talking to people I don’t even remember. He does chat with Sydney for awhile on the front steps of the mansion and I like their relaxed vibe, but they are shortly interrupted by Onyeka with an air horn.
I have to say Onyeka is a bit much for my taste and I hope she doesn’t stick around too much longer.
A few final notes:
We didn’t see much of Cassie this week, but I expect to see her become more prominent in the coming weeksThere is something deeper going on in the relationship with Hannah B and Caelynn (rival beauty queens). There seems to be two sides to this story that were aired in interviews and girl chats throughout the episode. We’ll see where this storyline goes.Tracy seems to be the person who is most likely to self destruct this season. She’s already coming across as desperate and can’t take the competition from the other girls.
Roses go to:
Hannah B (had one) Heather (had one) Elyse (had one) Taysha Cassie Caelynn Courtney Demi Nicole Kirpa Hannah G Catherine Bri Sydney Onyeka Katie Caitlin Nina Tracy
Roseless
Alex B Erika Angelique Annie

here we go week 3 see y’all next week
