The bachelor episode 7

here we are at week 7 it is just flying by it feels like the season just started and here we are at week 7 at this point I can tell that Colton is buliding some really great connections with some of the girls it is so sweet to see different personalities come out in each Relationship let’s get on with it shall we

Tayshia’s date

We’re headed back to Denver for this week’s dates! It was fun seeing my own city and state explored.  We saw Confluence Park, Union Station, the Georgetown railway, the Wings Over the Rockies Museum, Loveland Pass and Ski Area, and Colton’s apartment.

Their date seems pretty perfect. Honestly, if I were one of the girls this season that would be the date that I would want! Getting to see him in his hometown and in his element is really the best way for a couple to connect in my opinion. That’s real life. But let’s face it, the only thing that I can even focus on from their day is what she told Colton about Cassie and Caelynn. And the same went for Colton. It’s all he could focus on! The fact that Colton couldn’t let it go tells me one thing – that either Cassie or Caelynn was the one he thought he and end up with in the end. Or maybe they were both in his top two picks. If he thought he would send them home this week or even the following week I don’t think it would’ve hit him so hard. He couldn’t shake it. Understandably so. I’ve thought it would be Cassie in the end ever since they had their date together.

Caelynn Date

Colton and Caelynn spend the day snow boarding on Loveland Pass which looks like fun, even though I bet Caelynn spent as much time on her butt as she did on her feet.Colton confronts Caelynn about what Tayshia said about Caelynn not being ready.  I found myself angry at Colton in that moment as his tone of voice wasn’t reassuring and it didn’t feel like he wanted to give Caelynn the benefit of the doubt.  He put her on the defensive right away which felt ultimately unfair. Does this mean Colton trusts Tayshia so much that he’s always going to be clouded by her words? Does that mean she’ll be his pick in the end?I’m guessing that the break between snowboarding and dinner was torture for Caelynn.  She probably spent the entire time angry and sad and hurt and afraid that she was going to loose Colton without ever having a chance to defend herself.Dinner is emotional for both of them. It isn’t until Caelynn starts talking about looking forward to being engaged and married and having kids that Colton starts breaking into smiles and they start flirting again. They both express that they’re falling in love with each other, Caelynn gets the 2nd rose, then they zip off to a Brett Young concert at an empty Red Rock Amphitheater (how cool!)I’m so confused by Colton on this date. He appears emotional and not to trust Caelynn, but then declares that he’s falling in love with her.  There is NO WAY that he wasn’t feeling this way before the date (the falling in love part), so I don’t understand why he would put her through all of his doubts.  When will he start to trust himself more? When will he stop needing to listen to what other people have to say?  And now what? His gut is telling him that Caelynn is all in, which is in direct contrast to what Tayshia told him.  Who does he trust more? Will he continue to let Tayshia’s words haunt his other relationships? The next day we see Tayshia and Kirpa talking about Cassie and Caelynn.  It seems that the only reason Tayshia and Kirpa don’t think Caelynn and Cassie are ready for an engagement is because of their tone of voice in a conversation after the last rose ceremony.  Come on, this is just ridiculous.

Hannah B’s date

Colton takes Hannah B home to meet his parents and family, which feels huge. But only a few minutes into the date and it feels like maybe production realized that Colton needed a sit down with his parents. His dad basically comes right out and says “stop listening to gossip–trust your gut and yourself”.  Bravo dad, bravo.Colton admits to his dad that his feelings for Hannah aren’t as strong as they are with other girls. It’s the writing on the wall for Hannah.Despite their amazing location for dinner (Wings Over the Rockies Museum), and Hannah’s glowing smile that says she’s ready to be engaged, Colton breaks up with her. You can tell that Hannah is completely thrown off guard as her face falls when Colton starts talking.  She gracefully tries to handle her emotions as Colton doesn’t actually give her any real reasons or answers for the breakup.I love that even while in tears, Hannah proclaims “I will not allow myself to not feel chosen every single day”.  You go girl–keep your head up high and wait for the right one.

Four-on-one Group Date

The final four girls meet Colton to take the Georgetown Loop steam train.  I’ve always wanted to do this!Heather takes herself out of the competition almost right away.  Good for her for recognizing that it’s just not there with Colton.  At least she can always say her first kiss was with Colton the Bachelor! And then the drama starts.Apparently Kirpa needs to use her time to warn Colton about Cassie and Caelynn. So (of course), Colton goes right to Cassie and brings up what Kirpa and Tayshia said about her.  Once again, I feel like Colton is not giving Cassie the benefit of the doubt and puts her on the emotional defensive right away. In an individual interview Colton admits that his gut doesn’t think Cassie said any of the things she’s accused of saying.  So again I ask: what does this do to Colton’s thoughts about Tayshia? His gut has now contradicted Tayshia’s words twice.During Cassie’s confrontation with Kirpa, we again hear that it’s all gossip. The only actual reference Kirpa has to Cassie not being ready is her tone of voice in the post-rose ceremony conversation.  The rest is all here-say from something that Katie said to her.  Kirpa, stop, just stop. You’re not doing yourself any favors. The remaining three women head back to Denver for dinner at the Grant Humphrey’s Mansion. Colton promptly gives out the first of his last two roses to Hannah G and we don’t even see it! We hear giggling through the front door as Cassie and Kirpa sit awkwardly around the dinner table.  This has to mean that Hannah G isn’t the last one standing right? If she were, wouldn’t they have shown this moment (which was probably adorable)? Then Caelynn shows up to defend Cassie! She walks right in past Cassie and Kirpa, talks to Colton, then walks back out again without speaking to them. Moments later Cassie gets the last rose.  Did what Caelynn have to say influence the situation? I like to think it didn’t, that he was going to pick Cassie anyway, but I LOVED that Caelynn felt the need to stand up for her friend.  It’s been clear from around the house footage, that the two of them are good friends. And after this is over, they’ll hopefully still be friends, even if one of them ends up with Colton.

I hope you enjoyed week 7 recap of the bachelor see you guys next week for more of my bachelor recap xoxo Maya
